The point of the export is to capture the rendered output visitors actually see, so you are no longer depending on Divi’s runtime and shortcode system to serve the public-facing pages.

It is a strong move for brochure sites, portfolio pages, landing pages, and archived marketing sites that no longer need frequent editor-driven updates from WordPress.

Not for the static version itself. Once the exported pages are verified, they can live on standard static hosting, unless you still depend on WordPress admin features or plugin workflows.
